Yoon Jin's Story
Yoon Jin is a girl dressed in Hanbok, wearing a pink chang'ori and dark blue chima, white poson socks, and silk embroidered kkotsin shoes. She has a silver lotus-shaped hairpin in her hair.
In distant times of the Joseon era, in a small village nestled at the edge of the mountains, lived a small Korean girl named Yoon Jin. Yoon Jin had a deep affection for spring. Every spring day when the cherry blossoms bloomed, she would venture into her favorite garden to marvel at the beauty of the cherry trees. It was her sanctuary, where she felt closer to nature and could revel in the enchantment of spring.
Yoon Jin loved conversing with the old gardener, who shared secrets about the cherry blossom garden.
One day, amidst their conversation, the gardener transformed into a fox. The fox's gleaming eyes exuded wisdom. Looking at the astonished Yoon Jin, the fox spoke, 'The blossoming cherry signifies beauty, tenderness, and the fleeting gentleness of time. Your life will be happy and enduring if you cherish and protect nature, and fill your days with the joy of simple things.'
With a swish of its luxurious tail, the fox disappeared among the cherry trees.
Yoon Jin learned to live as the wise Fox had advised her—in harmony with herself and nature. Years passed, and the young Yoon Jin grew into a wise woman, continuing her love for spring, blossoming cherry trees, and all living things around her.
